The "Centre du Québec" region is located halfway between Quebec City and Montreal, on the South shore of the St.Lawrence River, and has a population near 220,000. The region is easily accessible via highways 20 and 55 and other roads. This magnificent region is delimited by the St.Lawrence River and here, mountains, forest, particularly the maple forests, and water form a majestic combination. The Laviolette Bridge links up this region with the Mauricie region.
The region offers a wealth of green spaces. More than 20 outfitter's locations and many sugar shacks are scattered over the territory. Fans of the great outdoors can rely on a solid recreational-tourism infrastructure. A 60 km bicycle trail links the towns of Warwick, Victoriaville, Princeville, Sainte-Julie and Lyster and is used as a snowmobile trail during winter.
Fishing, golfing, skiing, skating and camping are all sports that one can enjoy in this great region.
The cultural life aspect plays an important role in the "Coeur-du-Quebec" region. Several museums relate the region's history. Summer theaters successfully entertain both visitors and locals. Hotels, motels, Inns, Camping-grounds and B&B's offer a vast array of packages ( Golf Packages, Health Centers Packages,...) and accommodation to please one and all. Just the numerous Festivals scattered over the region are worth the detour.
