Fantastic family community. There are tons of residential neighbourhoods and great schools. The only draw back is the high taxes.
I live in the beautiful, tranquil suburb of Beaconsfield. I have lived in many towns within the "West Island" of Montreal (such as Ile-Bizard, Kirkland, Pierrefonds)but it was not until thirteen months ago that I moved into my own place in Beaconsfield. Living there as allowed me to spread my wings and throw on my sneakers whenever I want to go for a run without ever worrying about driving somewhere first. There is no better feeling than to run or bike along the water and having friendly faces greet you along the way. Although it seems to be a thousand miles away from everywhere due to its tranquility, it truly is close to everything. My only complaints: there is no Tim Horton's in my beautiful suburb and the trains pass by way too often!
It's a really good community/neighborhood to grow up in. It's the "burbs" in a nutshell. We were middle class and lived a comfortable lifestyle. The city provided all one could need including good schools.
